Established in 2004, Diana Bellgowan, Architect is a small, single-architect practice offering a full spectrum of design services for both commercial and residential projects, including custom homes, residential renovation and additions, historic rehabilitation, health care facilities, retail spaces and restaurants.
It is my belief that each project should be a unique solution created through collaboration, so I work using a team-based approach involving clients, contractors, consultants, and local artisans in the design process. Together we create elegant buildings that meet the intended need; incorporate sustainable construction methods and energy efficient technologies; and use local, renewable materials whenever possible.
What's new?
Well, two commercial projects recently wrapped up construction and are both now open for business! Vetcetera Animal Hospital is a traditional veterinary practice that also offers animal acupuncture services. And, TAP (The Asheville Public) is a family-friendly pub located at the former Silver Dollar Restaurant location in Asheville's River Arts District.
Also, this past month I helped with small renovations for two of my favorite past projects. Santé Wine Bar is nearing completion on a "rejuvenation" project − adding beer and draft wine to the bar and incorporating dcor changes. Plus, Advanced Dermatology & Skin Surgery just added a new Radiation Procedure Suite to allow them to perform advanced skin cancer treatments.
